German common name: Louisiana-Flusskrebs
English common name: Red swamp crayfish
In Europe, Procambarus clarkii is an invasive species that carries the germ of "crayfish pestilence" but is itself immune against that infection, so everywhere it appears in middle and southern Europe, native crayfish are extirpated.
The crayfish in the photo looks like it's "stranded", but in fact P. clarkii purposefully frequents extremely shallow water regions to warm up in the sunlight.
